Q1. What types of loads can the DEC Load Management System control?
Q2. What the load voltage and amperage can the DEC Load Management System control?
Q3. What size of panel does the DEC Load Management System work on?
Q4. How many loads can a single DEC Load Management System control?
A single DEC Load Management System can control one, or two, or three (including two new loads and one existing load) depending on models.
You actually have multiple wiring options when you try to add two new loads onto your panel by using only one DEC Load Management System. You can wire it to have separate breaker for each load, or wire it to share the same breaker, or wire it to have one load on its own breaker and the other one shares the breaker with an existing load.
Q5. Can I still add a new load to my panel if my panel is already full and I don’t want to add a sub-panel?
Yes, you can! With the Model DEC-X1, you can add a new load to an existing 2-pole circuit (for example existing range, dryer or AC etc.). DEC-X1 will interlock these two loads to allow only one load is turned ON at any time. You may choose one as the primary load to have the priority over the other load.
With the Series DEC-S models, you can add load(s) when you panel is full and you don’t want to share the circuit with any existing load. These models will intercept the feeder conductor of your panel to add capacity for new breakers.
Q6. What if my panel is inside my suite (or apartment) and I want to add an EV charger in the Parkade which is far away from my panel?
With the Series DEC-S models, you can intercept your panel feeder anywhere between meter socket (or meter stack) and your panel to add new load like EV charger. You don’t need to wire all the way back to your panel.
With the model DEC-SA125, you are even allowed to use one DEC Load Management System to serve two suites (apartments). This is an economic option when load management system is demanded in multiple suites (apartments).
